プルースト、ヴァレリーと共に20世紀フランスで最も評価される文学者の一人、独自の詩型を持つ近代戯曲の巨匠ポール・クローデル原作の『交換』L’Echangeを、リアルな”現代口語演劇”を標榜する平田オリザ主宰の劇団「青年団」の役者が行なうショートバージョンのリーディングパフォーマンス。
今回のテキストは、既存の翻訳版を用いるのではなく、まったく新しい日本語上演台本を、米谷ゆかり、平野暁人2名の若手翻訳家を起用し、作品に新風を吹き込んだものです。
アフタートークには、翻訳家の平野暁人氏、ドラマターグの小里清(フラジャイル)を招き、役者とともに、フランスの近代戯曲を演じることとは何か、独自の詩型のフランス戯曲を翻訳し、舞台で具現化することはどういう意識かなどを語っていただきます。
